This series of works is the result of searching for my own „illustration world”. The inspiration was widely understood steet art culture and fascination with abstract comics and various types of structures - both biological and mathematical. The next elements of the illustration – which were drawn by the artist in sequences - multiply like cells in a living organism.
At the beginning, all sketches/concepts were created on paper. Then, with the graphic tablet, digital compositions were created and colored. The last step was to find right texture. All textures were created by hand, and then were scanned and masked on the illustrations. The combination of manual and digital techniques is very important to me.
The illustrations were exhibited at the 9th International Student Drawing Exhibition #RYSOWAĆ. The exhibition was organized by the Drawing Department of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and Wozownia Art Gallery. A catalog will also be published for the exhibition.
Additionally, the works qualified to the Winners stage (the final stage) and to receive a distinction "Nominations" in the Noncommercial category of the International competition "Hiii Illustrations 2019" organized by Hiiibrands. The works will also be collected in the book "Work collection of Hiii Illustration 2019", which will be published by Jiangsu Phoenix Art Publishing House in 2021 and exhibited in Nanjing, China.
